ok, i have a 96 stratus and the tape deck stopped working a while ago. Today my father got the idea that all it needed was a little wd40. so now it works, but there is this god awful squeal in the speakers when there is a tape in the tape deck. the sound is loud enough to almost cover up the music, and it dosn't go away. i tried turning down the bass and treble, as well as thought maybe it was just in one speaker, and none if it worked. can anyone help?? please!

 

you might want to run a tape cleaner for a few mins. sounds to me that he got some wd40 on the radio that reads the tape

 

where exactly did the WD40 go??
