Default o2 sensor fuse keep blowing

The check engine light came on four months ago and had the auto part store check the code and they said it was the downstream o2 sensor so I replaced that sensor and the light remained on so I found out it was the fuse that is in the engine compartment blowing (10 amp) and I change that and it has been good for these last four months but now that fuse just keeps blowing. Is this common? Any help or ideas to fix this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!!

Thanks for the input! It is a 1998 2.4 liter stratus. I replaced the fuse, checked the ohm on the O2 sensor and all seemed well. I disconnected the battery to reset the code/light on the dash and it ran fine today but tomorrow I will run the stratus on a longer drive and see what happens.

After a few days of driving 110 miles a day the same condition is there. I got another o2 sensor to compare ohm but they are the same (3.8 ohm). So I think the O2 sensor it good. I also checked the wiring from the engine compartment fuse to the connection (four wire) that goes to the o2 sensor and it seems to be a short between three of the wires (all but ground). One wire goes directly to the fuse another wire goes to the powertrain control module and the third wire goes to many other sensor ground. I am assuming that this wire cable is part of the "wiring harness", is that true? Is this where I just need to pull all those wires out of their protective covering and chase down the shorted wires or do you think someone sells a replacement cable?
BTW- seems that even with the check engine light on and this O2 fuse blown that my stratus runs just as strong as with that light off. Is that normal?
Thanks!

you might be able to find one at a junk yard,or dealer might be able to get one maybe but doubt it you'll most likely have to fix the wires, when mine went bad car ran like normal

Just a point, NEVER use a multimeter to check a sensor without great care, it is possible to damage it, on ohms range the meter does apply voltage that's how meters work.

also yes the vehicle will seem to run normal but your mpg will be shot to hell, it won't pass an emmision test for sure.

Default Think it is fixed now

I did find a short in the Orange wire that comes from the 02 sensor connection and goes back to the Power Distribution Assembly. Once I inserted a new wire it has ran fine without blowing a fuse. Thanks for the help Dodge Forum!
