03 Stratus O2 Sensor Code
Hi folks,
03' Stratus SE 2.4L DOHC, the CIL code is P0032 - Oxygen (A/F) Sensor Heater Control Circuit High (Bank 1 Sensor 1).
I replaced the O2 sensor, no luck (same code came back after clearing the original code).
My mechanic then checked it out, tested the 4 wires that connect to the O2 sensor. He said that 3 of the wires are within spec, but the ground wire was not (no ground continuity at black wire). He referred me to the dealer, saying I probably need a PCM, or at least a re-flash.
I want to avoid the dealer. I'm willing to take a chance on trying a reman PCM, but wondered if the wiring harness from the PCM to the O2 sensor is a more likely cause of this ground problem. Opinions? Also, anyone know where I can get a good diagram so I can track down that piece of the harness?
Many thanks for any help.
Jon

One thing you might check is the ground strap at rear of exhaust could be loose, how many plugs are on your ecm might be able to find out which one is ground for o2 sensor for you don't know where to find a good diagram .
I wanted to circle back to share what the problem was. A previous owner had tapped into a black ground wire in the large harness that runs near the distributor. When they spliced into the wire, they left the original wire out of the wire loom, and the underhood elements caused the wire insulation to become brittle, and it finally broke. After removing the bad piece of wire and soldering in a new piece, the P0032 code is now gone, and the CEL is off. Thanks.
