I just purchased a 2000 status with the 2.4l engine.
The previous owner said he replaced the engine with a newer one that now has about 100k miles on it.
Is there a way to check what year the engine is on it somewhere?
Are there certain year 2.4l engines that were better/worse?
It seems to run really, really good!
The door locks are giving me fits. It seems i have to hold the button down too long to get them to unlock. I cannot get them to lock using the button on either door.
Any ideas how to Fix or what to look for?
Did these cars have remote locks? I didnt get a remote with the car, but some cars with power locks also have remotes. Anyway to check for this?
Are there any known issues i should watch for on this year car?

It sounds like your lock actuator is acting strange. You may have to replace it in order to get the locks to work properly.
