Default need electical help. I think. 2001 stratus es coupe 4 cylinder

I have 2 main problems. First the car will only run when is jumped off but it will not start which I think is the battery. I have been told is not the alternator because of the alternator was bad it would not run but for a few minutes after jumped off. the other issue that I am having is with the blinkers and the rear left hand brake light. The blinkers only work when they feel like it. And the rear left and brake light only comes on sometimes but my driving lights work when the lights are switched on. If anyone knows a remedy this problem please let me know or even just the cause

make sure the battery terminals/cables are clean and tight, then check battery (most big auto parts places will check for free), lights sound like a bad ground/or connection on that side of car

Your ground is probably junk. I bet the wire is all green. It connects to the frame about a foot away from the battery.

Thanks I'll look Intuit I finally got it to start but another problem I'm having is when I get in the car a lot of the lights on inside are surging or blinking. That being said I mean they're getting real bright and Deming on their own without me moving the switch while the lights are on. And I'm wondering if that has something to do with the blinkers to and break light. somebody told me that if I switched out the multi switch on the steering columnit might help. But that's the expensive route because mine is the sedan not the coupe I realize I posted it wrong after I posted it

Alright I managed to replace the battery cables and it seemed to fix the problem. That ground wire was disgusting so I got it replaced

I would also get the voltage regulator checked, since it was "surging" as you described it. That could be built into the alternator, or a separate module.
