2001 3.0 litre wont start
Ok so I made sure that fuel was pumping out of the fuel pump by taking off the fuel line at the top of the fuel sending unit under the rear seat. Put a rag in there to catch the fuel and hit the key to " on". Its pumping.
Sprayed some starting fluid into the throttle body and the engine would run very briefly. So I guess it has spark.
Only other thing could be what?
Possibly crankshaft positioning sensor?
Where is the fuel filter?
Thanks in advance.

Its been a few months sence you posted this! Do you still have spark? What is your fuel pressure? Are the injectors pulsing? Any codes?
What you need is some kind of direction to go after this problem.
Not sure where your filter is. On earler dodge's there above the tank and toward the rear of it,(haynes manual)I have read that thay are not servicable, but that dont sound right to me!
Not sure if you have a schrader connecter on the fuel rail to test fuel pressure, if it dont i'm sure it will be some kind of a PIA to get that done! But thats better than throwing parts at it!

I just posted recently of a similar symptom. Checked for fuel pressure and it was low, but pumped steady fuel. Took it to a shop and had it checked out and it was the fuel pump. Just because it pumps doesn't mean it makes enough pressure to start.
Daughters car. Shes been running the spare beater for 2 30 day temp tags(cant get any more). Now borrowing a friends car while she drives my work car. I sprayed either into the throttle body and it acted like it wanted to fire(made the starter go faster but never really caught. I imagine I had some fuel pressure, when I pulled the old fuel pressure regulator off I had to bleed it off slow then a few oz of gas leaked down when I pulled it then put the new one on. I dont know how to see if the injectors are pulsing and dont have a code reader. I pulled it to a shop 1 1/2 miles away before I did all this and they said it was the fuel pump. No matter which fuel pump was in there old or new it was pumping when you turned the key at the fuel line connection to the top of the pump assy.Charged me $40 for the misdiagnosis, which I am not happy about. When I pulled it up there with a towstrap, made it all the way to their property where there is a speed bump. That when her radiator broke. Go a new one on ebay for $60 shipped.
Be sure to follow the other post in this forum . The fuel pressure test really needs to be done from under the hood, doing it that way includes the filter and lines in the results.
This is what I use to check for the injectors firing! You will hear them click on as the injector fires, no click means no pluse or stuck injector.

You can do the same thing with a screwdriver held on the injector and the handle to your ear! Just dont work as good. Its also another way to check to see if a fuel pump is running!
