Need help with motor replacement on 2004 Stratus
Hello out there! Newbie to the forum. Just picked up a 2004 Stratus and the motor was removed and gone. It had a 2.4 liter. When I checked for used motors they ask for "8th" digit in vin#. Mine is X and is a sedan. The coupe is G. Does anyone out there know what the difference is? Why the big price jump?
The motor for the coupe cost half than the sedan. Any help ?
Thanks, jggolf

The coupe is a Mitsubishi motor used in Galants and Eclipse, the Sedan is a Chrysler motor used in PT cruiser, Caravan, Stratus/sebring, etc...
The reason why coupe engine is cheaper is probably because it has low demand.
