2004 stratus , new coil, turns over, won't start
2004 Dodge Stratus 2.4 DOHC. Was misfiring and barely running. Code showed P0300, P2302, P2305, P0700. Found Coil Pack had a burned spot near the #2 wire and large crack between #2 & #3! Replaced Coil and the plug wires. Engine turns over and almost sounds like it wants to start but doesn't. No spark. No voltage at coil primary connector while trying to start. Fuel pump ok, injectors ok, smell fuel on the plugs. Compression check 210-215 psi on all 4 cylinders. Replaced Cam Position Sensor 2 weeks prior. ASD Relay passes all checks. Found bad 20Amp fuse (#24 "Injector/Coil) and replaced, but still won't start. Charged battery. Battery runs down after a couple of attempts to start and takes a good while to charge back up. Don't know what else to try, at a loss now.
Getting no spark. Not able to find any battery voltage going in to coil primary. Just finished chasing wires from coil back to PCM and fuse box.
Coil input has 3 wires: One (Green with Yellow Stripe) goes to 14pin connector located near master cylinder, changes to Green w/Blue wire to fuse #24 (Injector/Col) then to pin# 87 on ASD relay.
Next wire (Blue w/orange) goes from coil to Orange Connector at PCM.
3rd wire (Black w/grey) goes from coil connector to Orange connector at PCM.
All 3 wires have good continuity throughout circuits I just described. Don't know if this will assist anyone in helping me, but may be useful to anyone trying to trace their own harnesses (ignition coil circuits).
