Brakes sticks - driver front side only
Hi everyone,
01 Stratus 2.7 4 door and I am stuck...
Short version: brakes dragging on front driver side only. I've replaced the master cylinder, rebuilt brake proportioning valve, put in new caliper/rotor/pads & hose and it is still dragging only on that side. What else is there?
Long version: I changed my master cylinder last week, it was leaking. Noticed an improvement in the way the car came to a stop. Last Friday I was driving and felt like the car was dragging and then it started smelling like something was burning. Pulled to the side and there was smoke coming out of the caliper. Over the weekend, inspected and found the caliper to be stuck so I replaced the caliper, the rotor, the pads and the hose. Test drove around my neighborhood and it felt fine.
Drove it again yesterday and wouldn't you know it, the same thing happens. Picked a few brains, online research found out about the brake proportioning valve and found a place that rebuilds them. Reattached the valve and lines, making sure I got the air out before tightening and test drive around the neighborhood was fine. Got on the freeway and the same thing happened, drag and my new rotor was red hot.
Any clues? Everything has been replaced that could affect it. What else is there?
Thanks!
