I have had this problem for a awhile now. My sensor light goes on and off all the time. Its for the cam shaft position sensor and I did replace that sensor once but still have the same problem. It really affects my car too since I can't go over 3000 RPM once it goes out. After driving a number of times the sensor will kick back on and work just fine. I have been reluctant to replace it again thinking that it must be a short or something. Any help is appreciated.

 

what code are you getting? there are many possible causes it could be the new sensor stratus's are peculiar sometimes i've noticed a bunch of people on here buying aftermarket parts (usually o2 sensors, cam or crank sensors ) have same problem as old sensor til they got correct oem sensor from dealer.it could be wiring harness problem ,a bad crank sensor sometimes causes a cam error and vice versa ,could be tone/pulse ring ,weak battery,alternator,or starter problem or bad pcm .
