02 3.0v6 startus R/T stranded
hello folks,
Need to see if someone can point me in the right direction regarding this car,
A Friends of a friend was visiting from out of state and drove down here to Texas for a few weeks where his car got stranded while driving around town.
They asked me to take a look at it since I do have some experience with cars.
I have worked on older Hondas and Jeeps in the past but a FWD v6 is a whole new ball game for me.
ANYWAY.... The guy said that the car just sputtered and then died and will crank but not turn over.
I went and checked out the car myself and found the plugs firing in the 1st 3 cylinders and also fuel coming out of the rail.... Sadly unlike my Jeep this engine does not have a shrader valve to hook my FP pressure tester up to check the psi
So anyway, I am getting fuel and fire but the car does not start.
I do notice an odd sound in the Fuel regulator thing (unsure what you call this) near the throttle body when the car is trying to turn over but I have no idea if thats normal for these cars.
Anyone here able to point me in the right direction to see what else I am missing?
I would think that if it was a camshaft or crankshaft sensor I would not be getting spark right?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated, I need this guy out of here and back home.....
