Unhappy Acceleration Problems

I recently bought a 2004 Stratus RT Couple. I love this car but have had a few problems with it and one I can't figure out why. The problem is when I shift and press on the gas, the RPMS go up then down and then I get the Acceleration. Unless I slam the gas I dont get the acceleration like I did in the beginning of owning this car. I recently had the starter replaced because it was dead. I had problems with the system holding a charge before that but it has stopped doing that since the new starter but this new problem has started. Any help is welcome.

Please state if this is a manual or automatic transmission, how many miles and what engine. One can only guess without this valuable information.

Then it sounds as though your clutch is slipping. Not unusual with that many miles. I would suggest getting it checked out by a reputable transmission shop or repair place.

That is what I was afraid of, was really hoping it was something else.

Until you get it checked, you will not know.
