01 Stratus Coupe V-6 engine Matinence
have about 140,000 on my friends V-6 (Mitsubishi).
is that a timing chain?
is it a clearanced engine.... valves and pistons wont collide?
what gives up.... guides (if timing chain)?
what else?

The 3.0 engine suggested timing belt interval change is 60000 miles. Yes it is an interference engine. Pull the inspection cover off and inspect it. Do the tensioners, guides and water pump while your in there. 140000 miles is driving dangerously if it's never been changed.
