Question 2004 Stratus Heater Issue

New to the forum, I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus with the 2.4 DOHC that the heater is acting crazy, heater will not blow out hot air setting at idle, as soon as I drive the car no more than 500 ft. the heater starts putting out hot air. If anyone has some info. on this I sure could use some help on fixing it, with it being cold weather now.

Moved to the correct section, also changed title to a more meaningful thread title.

How is the coolant level? How many miles? Any recent work done? Is this a new problem or has it done it before? The more information you can provide, the better we can assist you.

Thanks for the reply, stratus has a bit over 99,000 on it, coolant level looks to be a bit low, temp. gauge looks ok, never did have any trouble until last week, no work has been done on it. I tried 2 other heater controls on it but they didn't help any.

If the coolant is "a bit low", that could be an issue if it is low enough.

Thanks, for telling me about checking the coolant level, it was a bit lower than I first thought, I filled it to the correct level and the header works JUST FINE NOW. Thanks
