I was going down the highway and the speed/rpm’s seemed to hit a wall at 60 mph / 3k rpm. I pulled over to the side of the road, when I crept down to about 10 mph the engine died. I put it in park, turned it off and then turned it back on it started. Pulled back on to the highway and maybe got to 50 mph / a little under 3k rpm this time. I pulled over again and it died at 10 mph, turned it off the same as last time and it would not start back up. It turns over but does not start. My oil light stays on when I turn the key on and crank. It would come on previously every once in a while and go back out. Checked the dipstick and it was dry. Topped off oil and car would still not start, engine turns over. Tested for spark and had none. Are there any oil-related sensors that could be preventing spark as a safety feature for low oil? Or any other suggestions?
