2006 Status, 2.7L - Hard to Start, Cutting out when accelerating
New to the forum and hoping for some help with this one.
Background: 2006 Dodge Status, 4 door, SXT, 2.7L V6, 260,000 miles. I purchased new and have loaned it to my parents the past few years. They bought a new truck and no longer drive it, so over the holidays I picked it up and drove it 1,800 miles from Arkansas to California.
Problem: Started noticing a slight cutting out/surging when starting to accelerate at higher speeds. The tach would dip slightly, but it would smooth out after a couple seconds and everything would be fine. Next, it started doing the same thing when first shifting into gear. Again, after a couple seconds of accelerating everything would run fine. Now, it has become very difficult to start in the mornings. Will turn over for a long time, then start to fire, when it does start it runs very rough until I rev it past 1,500 RPMs, then will idle smoothly. If I start it again in the next couple hours, while it is still warm, it will start just fine.
The Check Engine Light has not came on.
I do not have a lot of experience diagnosing issues on computer controlled engines, so I am not sure where to start. This is a great car and this is the first major issue I have had with it. I appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks - Andrew
