fuel tank drain plug sticks out how far?
Hey guys,
I've got a 1998 Breeze 2.4L 4cyl, auto(Dodge Stratus, of course). I had to drain the fuel tank, and before I did the drain plug had about 1/4-1/2" of thread sticking out of the plug hole. I pulled it out and put it back in after draining the gas. It went in the same amount (about five turns?) before it felt tight. Spec is 39 inch pounds and although I don't have a torque wrench to measure that low, I snugged it up and it isn't leaking (I put about 4 gallons of gas in it).
Still bothers me that it sticks out that far though. Could someone with a Stratus/Breeze, preferably one that hasn't had the fuel plug out before, look under the left rear of their car and see if theirs sticks out 1/4-1/2" too?
Thanks!
