Big brake upgrade for the first generation Stratus
I just completed a major brake upgrade for my 1998. I just got a pair of front spindles and rear wheel backing plates from a 2003 Stratus/Sebring sedan from the wrecking yard. This allowed installation of 2003 brake rotors and rebuilt 2003 calipers from Rockauto on both ends.
Combined with 17" Enkei wheels with ET38 backspacing and some new Nokian tires, stopping and turning are greatly improved and the car also feels much more stable at highway speeds.
I got the rebuilt calipers with powder coating so they look great through the big wheels.
215/50r17 tires make the speedometer accurate.
