Question on timing belt install!??
Hi! Ive owned a 98 stratus RT for over a decade now. Sweet ride and ive become very fond of my car. I also own a 2010 Durango so im a Dodge enthusiast!!
This week I started changing my water pump w new idler pulley, tensioner, and belt. After install, it started perfect, no misfire, no trouble codes. Only i noticed my belt is on the very edge of the camshaft sprokets and my idler puller has a mark of rubber on the half closest to the engine.
I suspect a misallignment? Too tight tensioner? Faulty idler pulley?
Any comments w b graetly appreciated!! Also worth mentioning my test was for about a minute, no crankshaft pulley nor engine mount, only a jack under holding the engine.
