2.7L question
This is interesting. It seems that no matter what, when I start the car, it idles rough initially. It has done it since I got it. I just wondered, maybe it might be because of the transition from 1k rpm to 500 rpm process. It is rather, worrysome sometimes, but it runs great! I couldn't be happier really. I get 23mpg compared to 20 before the new muffler and k&n filter as well as synthetic oil change, so would these changes caused this if i wasn't paying attention to it before hand?
It's really weird, and kind of hard to describe. Just I know it just idles hard like shaking, like I can feel the whole car shake, but feel it more when i touch the control devices. i personally don't think it is a serious problem, just wondered on others experiences. i do worry that maybe it might be a problem, good thing i got that warranty still in effect heh.
oh and my 2.0 neon, hah, i can't stop a gas leak out by the filter, it's really p***** me off. someone said it was an o-ring at the parts shop, i change it out with all new, being really careful, and it ran fine for a bit, and now it's just pouring out when you turn the ignition on! sorry, just another problem. i want to give it away, fast, as long as i get paid for it, lol thought i would talk about that while i was here. can't put up on ramps now to fix, b/c it can't get enough gas to start, hahahah

2.7 in what? I have one in a sebring lxi and I get 30-31 on the highway. Believe it or not got worse gas mileage with a k&n. I know it was cause that is all i changed. My sebring has 140k on it by the way.

The 2.7 are sorta picky motors you really should change the oil religously every 3k. There is a post here about it. If you have a owners manual there is a scheduled maintenance log that I would advise you follow. Go to allpar.com for tons of the info you are looking for.
When's the last time you did your spark plugs? Checked the O2 sensor? I want to say it sounds like your car isnt getting a proper air/gas mix, but I really am not sure. I would definitely have it looked at by a shop. Especially if its something that goes on regularly. I have a V6 coupe with a 5spd and the 3.0L, and I get better gas mileage then your getting.....and that's something I would be looking at also.

hey im not gitting that check engine code but i am gitting many others....!!!! my map, maf,and tps, sensors are reading corralation at load.. and im gitting a high circut bank one sensor one error. i dont know what to do. i have replaced the map,map,and tps sensors and the check engin light never went off.. this is where it all started--------------------> i took off the cat converter and the car ran fine. ok. well about a week later i took off the throttlebody and bored it out but before i did that i undid my battery to reset the comp. i bored it out then hooked it back up. then the problems began. thats when i replaced all of that ****.... then i went and got 2 new o2 sensors check engin light still on! i went and got a dio done again i was gitting low circut bank 2 sensor 2 i know this wont make sence but hear me out. high circut bank2 sensor 2 ...... yeah.. so i bought a o2 simulator to simulate the cat converter to try to solve the problem and i got another dio done. i must of got like 25 dio's done by now... and i was reading low circut bank2 circut 2 so i fixed that and again went and got another dio done and now im gitting map, maf,and tps, sensors are reading corralation at load.. and im gitting a high circut bank one sensor one error and the car's rpm's wont let me go past 3500.. it bounces like the governor is stoping it when im swithching it from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and so on and when i stop or stay stedy on gas it bounces at 1000 rpms. and when on stoped it will try to cut out almost stalling then catch its self BOY IS THIS CAR PISSING ME OFF. PLEASE HELP CUZ PEOPLE IVE WENT TO DONT KNOW **** ABOUT MODDING CARS AND TELL ME WHAT I KNOW IT IS NOT....................SORRY IF THIS IS A REPEAT FOURM U HAVE SEEN ALOT OF BUT I NEED MAJOR HELP BAD IM RUNNING LOW ON IDEALS!!!1
