i thought that the galant had the 6g74?
Not sure about that in todays market, it may have upgraded to the 3.5. When compairing my 2002 to the 2002 Galant, the 2.4 and 3.0 SOHC motor were the only two engines available, just like the Strat.

Why couldnt dodge put a dodge engine in their car?
Because it was never a Dodge car to begin with....and it would waste more money to develop a lineup for Dodge. This car is basically a Mitsu Eclipse....hence B_52's signature of an 02 Mitsu Stratus R/T.

Hell, my car has Mitsu stickers in the door lining....
Lol so does mine.

and I thought the only thing Galant was the chassis?
The Galant was sold with the 3.0 as well(both auto, and auto-stick). Everything I have been able to find researching the car points to the Galant through and through. About the only exception I have found yet is the lack of a 5 speed on the Galant, and no 17 inch rims.

(Keep in mind that this is by just looking at generalities like suspension measurments and stuff, so there is room for compairisons to both Mitsu lines, I tend favor the closer matching of the two.)

I saw a Eclipse sitting in a parking lot 20 feet from my car. They looked like brothers.

Hey guys. My friend has an 02 R/T with the 3.0 motor in it and he is looking to have his plugs changed. A shop quoted him 185 in just labor, so I told him I can probably do it for him for much cheaper. It looks like you guys are doing it in about 3 hours. The thing I am looking for is a write up on how to take the plenum off to get to the rear plugs. Any helpful tools? I have two maximas and I work on them a lot so I already have most tools, and I have done pretty much everything when it comes to 4th gen maximas but I would like a few tips since I have never worked on this 3.0 motor. Thanks for any help.

I have about 50 pics of my car and a lot of video. I'm waiting on getting a better video editing Software progy (supposedly i will get it today after work.
I'm gonna do the DIY this weekend, I'll have a real bona fide mech with my and High res photos. I think I'll do wire and plugs and replace the battery it's all orig so it's all coming up on it's engineered life span. Also do you know where the EGR valve is I might try blocking it and see what happens.
