ok, im wanting to start off with a aftermarket intake and exhaust for the 2.4 motor to help liven it up, exhaust im not worried about because thats a universal item pretty much but for intake i cant seem to find any for the 06, im wandering if i buy a K&N cone filter and remove the HUGE stock airbox is it possible to mount a cone filter up to the stock intake tube? just by removing the stock box & filter? gonna try but wandering if anyone else has done this, is the 06 2.4 similiar or the same to any other years stratus 2.4?

 

coupe or sedan? the problem when making a custom intake for the coupes, is the mass air flow sensor, which is a black box with a white mitsubishi sticker on it. I have included a picture, and you can see something labeled "adapter". that is the piece that you have to get in order to eliminate the air box. it is in oddly shaped pattern, so its tough to fab up, unless you are a fabricator by trade, or even a good welder.

if you have a sedan, i dont know, because i have a coupe.

If its the sedan there are two people who manufacture stuff for the 2.4 and 2.7 since they are hard to find. F-5performance.com and dreamspeed2.com. Sedan wise there is 2ssg.org which is a forum with these to manufacture on it. You can talk to them and ask them stuff. F-5 performance is currently join but you can talk to him through 2ssg.org and he'll most likely sell you stuff. He main does intakes but dreamspeed i believe has exhausts.

He's still up as far as I know.
