HELP!!!!!!
Please help me!!
I have an 02 R/T and it has been having a rod knock sound when its cold... the clutch went on it too and its been at the dealer for almost 2 weeks. They hear the noise on cold starts, but dont know where to go after that... becuase it will go away after a few minutes of the engine warming up. The car sounds like a loud deisel on mornings where its below 40 or so... anybody have any idea's or have that happen to them?? the dealer is out of ideas and i want my car fixed so i dont have to drive the minivan anymore.
Thanks!

From your description, it sounds like piston slap when cold. Some chevys are famous for that, and it is rare on a Dodge, but it can happen. Only way to really tell is tear down the motor and start checking clearances . Try offering the dealership that as a suggestion. I know they'll probably balk at that one because they won't want to get into it, so just make it a nice suggestion. Good luck
i was thinking the same thing, but a bit unsure... they think its the cat... so they have replaced it, its now at another shop getting a new clutch, finally... then it should be back home monday... after 2 and a half weeks... i'll keep you posted on if its fixed or not... thanks alot!!
