Putting a timing belt and waterpump on a 99 2.0 engine and it needs a tensioner-mechanical spring type-Does not seem to be available in the aftermarket. Called dealer and says it is replace by a kit that includes covers and fasteners etc for over $300.00!! Anyone have a source for a less $$ tensioner??????

 

does seem a bit high, but by the time you buy all the stuff seperate you are that high. try on-line parts stores. if you are sure you have the 2.0 and not the 2.4 it sould be the same motor as the neon. the guys on that page might know more than i about this, as i'm new to the neon and my strat is a 2.7. good luck.
