parts for 06 model hard to come across....
hey guys! been drooling over the strats on cardomain the past few days as i just bought a 2006 silver stratus sxt last friday. been googling around, getting ideas for what i'd like to do to mine as well as trying to find parts. which brings me to my reason for posting...
everywhere i look, i'm told "we're sorry, we don't have any parts for your vehicle" except for the occasional universal spoiler section. first thing i wanted to do was install a CAI, but nobody makes them specifically for mine.
would parts from the previous couple years work? a friend tells me i can just make my own CAI but i dunno how well that'd turn out. are there universal CAI kits out there?
and what about body kits? it seems fairly difficult to find one of those for my car too.
NO ONE makes a turbo that i've seen. i'm told that greddy makes universal turbos... what's your take on that?
do i just need to wait? or is there another way to spend these few thousand dollars i have set aside for this exact purpose? i guess i could get a paint job and some rims... but what fun is a pretty car if you can't front :P

p.s. oh, and we're having a debate on whether or not it's possible to convert rear drums to disc brakes? anyone care to field that one?

I know what you mean, I just bought a 2001 Stratus R/T and parts are really scarce. I figured since it was an American car I would be able to find parts at reasonable prices but the prices are as expensive as my Caddy.
well first things first if i am not mistaken dodge actually isnt american.. there headquarters are in GERMANY. yes it is possible to convert rear drums to disc brakes but it would be a big pain in the BUTT... i was gonna do the same thing to my car but it would way to much of a pain in the butt to do it so i said F it.
the stratus coupe really isn't an american car, all of the mechanicals are all loaned from the 3rd gen eclipse, the only things that are different ar the cosmetics, looking for eclipse parts may be easier for you. and the rear disc conversion is very esy so long as you can find a donor car in the junk yard with rear disc, but it could still get on the pricey side.
if your looking for body kits you should check www.andysautosport.com they tend to have body kits for everything, and you can also email them, and they are very helpful... hope i helped a little......

and yeah, i been checking andy's since day 1. my only complaint about that site is that the pics don't really help much. they'll use the same pic for 50 different body kits or spoilers or what have you. sooo... i started lookin elsewhere.
however, i DID find "custom" intakes on ebay. user goes by the name of "chromeintakes".
here's a link. looks like it oughtta work out just fine.
what do you guys think?
