Headers
I drive a 2001 stratus coupe se with the 3.0 v6 and ive heard alot about that being the same thing as a mitsubishi eclipse gt so i was wondering if the headers for the eclipse would work on the stratus since i cant seem to find them for a stratus specificlly also i was wondering if the eclipse exhaust would work because the only exhausts for the startus cost alot of$$$$$
As for the exhaust, I have a 2002 2dr r/t (eclipse clone) so I bought a greddy cat-back exhaust. The problem is that it didn't fit properly and I had to have themcut it and put a sleeve because it was too short and the hangars were backwards. Any muffler shop can make it work, but I ended up spending more money then I wanted. You would probably be better off having a 2.5" pipe, run from your cat and if you want it quiet put a tip and muffler on the end. Or If you want a more aggresive race sound just run the pipe all the way back, no tip, no muffler. You can also change the diameter of the pipe after the rear axel to get a deeper sound, badstrat has a link somewere here of his exhuast with a larger pipe from the axel back. I think as far as catback systems, you might want to try the galant, and check with the seller to make sure it will fit, or that they except returns.
Kang i have a question for u. I saw on the list of things u had done a 62mm throttle body from proflowdesign.com was included i went there and they didnt have one specfically for the stratus so i was wondering if u used the eclipse on ur stratus and if u did, did it all fit up right or did u have to fabricate?
I used the throttle body for the eclipse. It was a perfect fit, there was absolutely no fabrication (or really mechanical skill) needed for the install. Plus they give you like a month to ship back your throttle body so you don't have to pay the core charge up front which is cool. If you have any questions about the install feel free to ask, like I said it's pretty simple. Take off a few bolts, disconnect the throttle cable, put the new one one, remember to keep the throttle possition in closed ;-) and reconnect. Your car will stall at first, then it will shift weird for about 5 minutes almost spiking the rpms at each shift, but then it reformats and works like a charm. Plus if you have a cold air intake, the wistle you get around 2000 rpms will go away.

Honestly, 2 mm probably doesn't make that much difference, but I like to think there is a little more giddyup. I was at a light with an eclipse gt the other day and I stayed ahead and pulled further past him, intake, exhaust, and +2mm on the throttle body, none the less it's there. There seems to be more torque but it very well could be the "ricer sticker effect." Are there gains? I'm sure. Is your car gunna burn it's tires, and have everyone around wondering what you did to your strat? No. However I like to think it's just that much quicker then anyother r/t/eclipse I see.
