I was having some problems with my Remote Keyless Entry. I had noticed that as time has gone on when I would press the Unlock and Lock Doors button it would fail to work all the time. I figured that the battery inside the RKE was failing. I figured that I would open it to see what type of battery it had. It is a standard CMOS type battery that is used in a computer. I had several of these so I decided to swap the battery. After swapping the battery my remote does not work at all. I have verified that I put the battery in correct. I have gone from bad to worse. My owners manual states that you can replace the battery. Has something happened to the programming of the remote? Is there a fuse in the fusebox that works with the Remote Keyless Entry that may need to be replaced to fix my problem? Any suggestions.

 

i actualy started having the same problems with my 01 R/T. i would sometimes have to push the lock button like 9 times to get it to work. i replaced the battery and it didnt get any better. i personally think that the contacts inside the remote were starting to go bad or were dirty. i bought a couple offline and have yet to get them programmed because i eventualy got a remote starter put on my car. take it to your dealer and have them test it. thats your best bet to see what the problem is

 

might just be a bad batt. i replaced mine and had no probs. i just get a new batt at the watch counter at wall-mart. once i can't unlock the car from 20ft i replace the batt (twice now on an 02). good luck.
