I NEED TO KNOW IF ANYBODY KNOWS HOW TO MOD THE FOG LIGHTS SO THAT I CAN TURN THEM ON AND OFF WHEN EVER I WANT TO. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP

 

what year r/t do you have? I have an 01 and i can turn them on/off whenever i want to. there is a button on the bottomnear your left knee on the dashboard.

what are you trying to do? have them on when you have your parking lights on? have them on then you have the high beams on, or just have them on when you push that button?

 

my friend has a toyota tacoma 05 he mods his fog lights so that he can turn them on and off whenever he wants to he ran a wire from the relay fuse to the igintion fuse so when he turns the truck of the lights go off that is not factory. the setting is the fogs only work when the headlights are on. I was wondering if this is possible with my 01 stratus if anybody has done it

I am trying to figure this out as well on my wife's 05 R/T. The problem I have is that the light control switch is located on the turn signal control, not on the dash where you can acces the wires from the backside. Where is the light control on your '01?

 

I was also wondering about this on my 04' RT. You have to have the headlights on to use the fogs (which is dumb). Any way to fix that? I had an Escort that did this and all I had to do was cut and splice a wire to fix it.

 

well my lazy *** friend finaly got back to me with that website. The site only had 1G and 2G DSM electrical stuff on it, which is basically what we have. I know its not the same because we have the 3G powertran. Just click on Electrical on the top of the page and the fog light info is about 1/4 way down or so. The wiring cant be that much different. The sitw tells how to mess with the relays, what color wire does what...etc.. i hope this helps. Good Luck

This mod is not as easy as it seems. You will need to wire in a relay and a few other little pieces essentially to fool the car into thinking the headlights are on which will then let the signal go thru the Body control module and allow the circuitry in the switch itself to work independantly. I happen to know that there is a member on another site that has devleoped a kit to do this mod to any year Strat coupe or 3rd gen. Eclipse. I know his name and his contact info and I can give it to you if you just PM me and say you want it

 

This mod won't work as described on a 97 stratus, can't find the relay as shown in the diagram. Anyone have a wiring diagram for a 97? My chilton's book doesn't even show fog lights. I'd like to hook up the fog lights so they turn on all the time witth the ignition. My fog switch is out and the stealer wants $500 to r & r...
