I have a 99 Dodge Stratus DOHC VIN X and would like to know if a 2004 Stratus 2.4 DOHC would fit in my 99 dodge

 

internally the 2.4 has never really changed that much, but to make sure... things you should look for are to make sure all the sensors are the same. the engine mounting points should be unchanged but it is possible that the oil pan and oil filter mounting locations might be different

 

i guess you have the 2.0 dohc (like a neon that both dodge and plym sold)? the pt cruzr also has a 2.4 (not sure if it's dohc) that might also work. just tossing ideas out that might save you some $$. good luck and let everyone know what you find out.
