srt swap?
Anything is possible with the right amount of time and money. I haven't heard of anyone actually doing the swap and from what I have heard the 2.4L SRT-4 engine is not the same as the 2.4L from your '98. I have been told the SRT-4 motor was not built off of any other motor.
I thought the 2.4 was the exact same block that Chrysler has been using for ages, even in the K cars. They just built up the bottom end and went from there? It wouldn't make sense to make a whole new block for one car. I think some of the guys with R/T Neons have swapped parts form SRTs to their engines, this is just from what I remember browsing some forums.
Best to ask the Neon guys themselves. If it's the same 2.4 as in the R/T, just with built internals, then I don't see why it wouldn't be plausible.

The 2nd gen Neon R/T doesn't have a 2.4L, it has a 2.0 HO engine making 150hp, where as the base Neon has the same 2.0L with a different head and makes 132hp. The 2.0 HO is basically the same as the regular 2.0 except it has a more agressive head and works kind of similar to the Honda VTec. The SRT-4's turbo 2.4L is based of the 2.4L turbo engine that was sold only in the foreign market, mainly in Mexico and Latin America. POV (or PVO can't remember) took that engine and pretty much re-did the whole thing to make the 2.4L turbo sold in the SRT-4 Neon's and PT Crusiers.
