Default Catalytic Converter

Im thiking about punching my cat out so it sounds a lot louder, please post the pros and cons of doing it, I wanna know if its worth doing thanks

I live in NY i know its illegal, i got a man who will give me an inspection sticker so im not worried about that, Im wondering how much more sound its going to give my car

it should make it louder. what would make it even louder, would be to have a straight pipe inserted there.

it will increase the gallon per mile, the hp's increase a little...and the pollutin 'll be higher

If its a 96 or newer, forget about it. They use a O2 sensor in front and behind the cat. Punch out the cat and you'll set a code. Doubt your buddy will inspect it with a code.

The last post is not true, I have a stra 96 without cat. And any code is set, the both o2 sensor are to know if the mix is reach or not. Your engine will work more relax it gives off dangerous fumes faster..... and its increase the power and the fuel that the engine fire...

American made cars after '95 required the use of the ODBII drivetrain control system with uses O2 sensors before and after the cats. From your post I'm not sure what you have or what you're trying to say. BTW it's illegal to temper with the cats anyway. Proceed at your own risk.
