Default Intake Mod Question

ive a seen a couple 01-02 Stratus's with the Diamante Intake manifold on them. These cars were also supercharged that i saw these on. My question is, how much more flow does that intake have vs. the stock 3.0L Intake that come in the Stratus? What year Diamante is this intake coming from? thanks

these intakes are coming from any year diamanyte with the Mitsu 6g72 motor. Your best bet is to just remove your intake manifold and have it ported....because you may have to worry about throttle body relocation if you use the diamante manifold.

i believe that it is the 6g74 intake manifold that you want...these come on diamantes and the mitsubishi SUV (the name is escaping me at the moment). i have seen several guys do this, at they flow quite a bit better. i believe that this intake manifold is the same one that is found on the GTS 3g eclipses...hence the extra stock horsepower.

The Diamante intake is not the same as the GTS. The Diamante is larger than a stock R/T or GT manifold and promotes better airflow to the cylinders to prevent problems when boosting. Gains for N/A without headers etc are negligable. Now, the GTS manifold has switchable runners and can flip and internal butterfly to make them short or long depending on rpm. This is one reason they're rate for more horespower, another is they have a higher compression ratio.

The GTS manifold is the best by far, but it requires a lot of component and wiring mods. For instance, the vacuum disk for the ABS must be move to the passenger side of the engine (along with wiring) and the rear valve cover must be swapped or dented to prevent contact with the intake. There is also the RPW intake, but it's still a work in progress and will end up costing right at $1000. The Diamante can be had for around $200, the GTS for mid $300s.
