Default 2002 Dodge Stratus humming from the front

I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus that is making a humming noise while driving. The faster I drive the louder it gets. It seems to be connected to the speedthatthe tires are rotatingbecause I can rev the engine and the noise doesn't change. Nothing is touching the tires as far as I can tell. any Ideas what it could be?

Its either a bad wheel bearing or a bad tire(s). Try rotating the tires and see if the noise changes or moves. If that does not change the sound, it's most likly a wheel bearing.

also have a 02. you didn't say if the car pulled to one side, if you just got new tires, or how your tread wear looks. norm, if the hum changes with speed, it's the tires. check out the tires (some are just louder than others) for air press and things stuck in the tread. might check the trans fluid too. if that all looks ok, put your hand CLOSE, NOT ON the wheel hub (if you do have a bearing going out the hub may be VERY hot). if one hub is hotter (by alot) the bearing may be bad OR your brakes might be dragging. hope this helps, good luck.
