I had a similar problem not too long ago but only affected one cylinder. I went to local yard and picked up a Coil Pack from a 96 Neon, and went ahead and replaced all the plugs and wires. Worked like a charm and haven't had any issues yet.

Default Wiring harness diagnosis or replacement?

*sigh* I have a 2002 Stratus 2.7L (wife's car). It has 150,000 miles overall but the engine was replaced a year ago with a re-manufactured engine (sludge monster got the other). It has performed very well for 25,000 miles. Recently it died on my wife...60 miles from home where she works of course...and the problem was determined to be the alternator which we replaced at an independent mechanic shop. About 1 mi. down the road it faltered and died again. The same mechanic determined that although the alternator was indeed bad, there apparently is a short in the wiring harness "somewhere"...blows fuses and fails to charge. I have yet to look at the car but his recommendation of dealer service seems like a financial death-knell to me. I have a modest amount of electrical savvy and at least know my way around a VOM. My question: Is it possible or logical to obtain and install an entire replacement wire harness or does it make sense to try to find the short wire-by-wire? Or should I bite what promises to be an enormous bullet and take it to a dealer? Please share your experience and suggestions! We still owe money on the car and can't just dump it...and actually like the car otherwise. Thanks!

on a 2000 stratus, if you apply pressurized air to the service port in the engine compartment for the vapor recovery system, what should happen ?
