Default Squeelllingg Tires (not the good squeeeel)

Ok so whenever I turn the wheel on my car I hear this horrible squeel, it is really bad and the steering wheel is very hard to even turn when the car is stopped, if I am moving the noise isnt so bad and after 5 minutes of driving isnt there unless I turn the wheel most of the way, but when I am just pulling out of a parking lot after being parked its hard to even make a turn and the car sounds horrible! Could this just be a belt issue or something worse?

Sounds to me like the power steering pump.

I agree, your power steering pump might be going out. My friend has a 80something chevy pickup. The power steering pump is taking a crap and it squeels like crazy.

Yup, check your fluid levels first, if they are good then the pump is most likely toast.

never said how old the car is. after checking the fluid, i'd look at the p/s belt. after they get old, they get hard and can "slip" or sometimes stretch. a loose belt wilalso cause the issues you said. hope this will be a cheap fix, good luck.
