I have a 96 stratus with the 2.5l engine(125,000 miles)that just recently has developed a transmission problem. It may be the cold weather but I'm thinking it's more. It shifts about 10 mph after it normally did and it does not go very easily into overdrive (about 55 mph+ instead of 40). I'm under the understanding this is an electronic transmission.
The fluid is still red with a little brown to it but it does seem to have a few bubbles in it. It is not overfilled. Has anyone had similar "cold weather" problems like this or does this seem like it may be more?

I have a 96 stratus at 130,000 miles and I had this problem yesterday. It was more than likely the weather because after i reached my first destination and parked, the car was warmed up and it no longer has the problem. Just make sure you let the car run for about 5 minutes before driving. good luck!
