Another question from my new(er) car. '01 R/T coupe. When I unlock the driver side door and open it, the lights start flashing like the alarm is going off, but no horn honking. I can even start the car, but the lights still flash until I open the trunk with the key, and close it again. I don't have the keyless entry remote just yet. According to the manual this would only happen if I wasn't using the key to open the door. I'm confused.

Any ideas?

 

the previous owner definatly did something man, sounds like they had an alarm or a car starter and didnt put everything back the wiring back way it was supposed to when they took it all out

 

This is also probably why when I double unlock the passenger door doesn't unlock, but it's supposed to. I did a CarFax check on this last week, it was a "fleet car" for sometime.

I guess the next question is, how can I go about fixing all this myself? What online resources should I check? Would a service manual be a good idea to get?

 

i would get the service manual, im sure it will help. in all honesty im not one with electrical systems and stuff so i wouldnt have a clue where to begin. i would try the manual though
