sebring all wheel drive GSX
all right, here's the deal. ive seen it done before on ASOG and haven't been able to post there yet. anyways, i'm trying to find out exactly what all i need from an eclipse GSX to convert my sebring to all wheel drive. i would really appreciate any help i can get from you all. thanks a million.
what year sebring?? i know the bring is a bit longer...so while youll need the full running gear, youll also need to lengthen the rear differential driveshaft.
its a 97 model year sebring with 2.5 V6 that'll be taken out as well as the automatic trans. what im trying to find out is exactly what model year eclipse GSX i need to pick up at the yard for all the parts.
well, im actually expecting a nightmare outta this from start to finish. but i know there wont be many others like it out there. and its open alot more doors for me with building my car. ive been wanting to do this for a long time now and im finally gonna be able to afford to do it. ive only got 5 more months here in iraq and ill be home to begin my project that ive dreamt about forever. anyway, if there's anything real helpful you happen to come across lemme know. thanks for your posts anyway.
well ive got the entire sebring already, its a daily driver and i am going to buy the eclipse when i get home from this tour. i'll most likely just buy one from a salvage yard and go from there. it 'should' make it easier having it in whole instead of just peices. to the best of my knowledge the sebring is just basically just a stretched eclipse and most of the drivetrain oughtta match up pretty good with only some modification.

to be honest...if i were you, i would try to swap the sebring body onto the GSX chassis/drivetrain.
i have seen an avenger on ASOG that was on a GSX chassis and drivetrain, and ive also seen a carrera body fitted in the same manner.
