I remember a few years back, when the 2003s came out, they did a promotion where they raced the Viper jet. From what I remembered, the Viper was winning right until the last fraction of the runway. That would be way cool if the 2008 came back to beat it.

 

Yes it is. This time the viper had 600 horsepower, sadly the competition coupe lost but it only had 520 horsepower.

This is useful, why just yesterday there was a jet on the highway that pulled up next to me and honked his horn 3 times.

Car vs jet races are so played out, haha. Cool pic though, and it's cool the "real" Viper won this time. I still don't get calling the plane a Viper, but whatever.

 

Thats because the official name of the aircraft is the fighting falcon. The pilots of the F-16 call it the viper for its sleek lines, speed, and manueverability. I should know since I am gonna go to school for them eventually.

Not trying to be a dick, but I'm in the Air Force, and I have NEVER heard anyone in the servicecall them "Vipers". Most people just call them "Sixteens". A lot of people just call them Falcons, too. "Lawn-darts" is my personal fave, and it's pretty popular, too.
