Would you buy a 625 RWHP Viper fram a dealer?
Hello my name is TJ Riley and I am new to this forum but have been working with a company called Modern Day Muscle Cars for sometime. We work mainly with Corvettes and other GM products such as the new GTO and CTSV. We have ben putting out some impressive numbers for a few years now at the dyno and track and have 4 cars going to this years SEMA show with one being a GTO project for GM. We strongly believe in building very fast but driveable cars. We are currently doing a Paxton package for a local forum member. We deal mainly with Procharger and get 800 RWHP on a 346 CI motor in a Corvette but have not worked out a Procharger package for a Viper yet. We also have been approached by a dealer to do some superchargers on a couple of new Vipers but do not want to get into doing a project that wil not sale. This is not good for anyone us or the dealer. So my question to you is would you have been or are interested in a 625 RWHP brand new never before titled Viper from a dealer. The car would have no exhaust work and would be emissions legal. So help me out with making this decision. The car we would be working on has a MSRP of just under $86,000 and would sale for about $110,000 with the package at the dealer. If you are looking to add this package to your current Viper then feel free to email me.

Thanks for the info. Please understand that when I say what the car will sale for $110,000 that does not mean we are charging $24,000 for the package. The price you quoted and the power you mentioned fall in line to what we are charging the dealer for the package. The dealer of course is looking to make some profit off the package and also understand that the price of $110,000 is a starting point. I would much rather work with a dealer that would be willing to discount the cars down below $80,000 but I can't seem to find one. Can you please advise so we can pass those savings on to the consumer. I'm sure that if we could offer close to 700 RWHP and a brand new Viper for $95,000 - $100,000 then everyone would be happy.

Currently Dodge has a large supply of cars. You can try calling around the country to find one, Woodhouse comes to mind. In Viper circles most owners are afraid to have the dealers change their oil let alone do warranty work on a blown car. Paxton offers a DIY kit for the SRT. If you don't want to DIY they have a network of Viper shops that will install them even modify them for higher levels of performance and still handle the warranty work. I'm by no means telling you not to try this just want you to know that there are allot of established Viper tuners out there that are already doing this. For under 100K.

Thanks for the help. I understand that alot of the Viper owners do not want to have the dealers to do any more work on their cars then they have have to and I feel the same way about my cars. We would be more then happy to do any warranty work on the cars after the mods. I would never expect one of my customers to have to deal with the dealer. The only reason I thought it would be nice to get involved with the dealer is to make things easy for the customer. It takes alot of work to hunt for the right shop and price then you have to give up your brand new car for a few days for it to be worked on. It is so much more simple to just buy what you want and drive it home. 700 RWHP is easy out of these motors when we are making 800 RWHP out of stock cid Corvette motors. The under $100,000 is no problem with what you are saying about dealers giving up the profit. Our end is covered now we just need to find the right dealer.

700 is the starting point, no other mods. My Gen 1 is currently making 900+ RWHP with a stock bottom end. There are even a couple of 1400 twin turbo "sleepers" running around, granted that runs about 60k just for the motor.
Good luck competition is a good thing.

The 625 was trying to keep the boost levels down a little. The 700+ is no problem with no ther mods. Your car must be alot of fun with 900+ rwhp. Have you ever taken it through the quarter? Times? Have you drove one of the 1400 HP sleepers you mentioned? It must be a bear to plant that kind of power. We have an 1100HP twin turbo 427 Corvette at the shop and with its light body we have trouble using the power at the track.
