RE: The Viper ACR is back
I just saw that,here aremore pictures- http://www.motortrend.com/features/a...iper_srt10_acr
Dodge says the ACR will cost "under $100,000" -- which could very well end up translating to $99,995 - when it arrives in the second quarter of 2008.

RE: The Viper ACR is back
Yeah that doesn't seem very promising from what the article states...
All told, the wheels, tires, rotors, and carbon fiber components conspire to reduce weight by 40 pounds over the base Viper, which tips the scales at 3450 pounds. Another 40 pounds can be removed by opting for the "Hard Core" package, which deletes the audio system (replacing the door speakers with carbon fiber panels), underhood silencer pad, trunk carpet, and tire inflator.

RE: The Viper ACR is back
I think some of you may be missing the point about the Viper ACR.Speed isnot just about the horsepower. The work went into every aspect of the car includingthe aero package, suspension, tiresand brakes. Among the many enhancements are:
The rear wing is all new, along with the dive planes on the front.
KW designed a special damper.
Stop Tech brakers were added.
The car sports the biggest tires Michelin can make (and they're unique to the ACR).
The result of all this computer-assisted design and development is a sports car package that is capable of 1,000 pounds of down force at 150 mph and nearly 1,600 pounds at top speed.
When it comes to performance numbers, the guys at SRT are always careful to avoid "overselling" the speed or horspower of the Vipers it develops. However, with this one, they say theymeasure the lap time improvements of this car not in tenths of seconds, but in full seconds.
There's a lot more to this car (shameless plug coming: you can read all about it in the next issue of VIPER Magazine), but believe me--it's an awesome machine.
