Heard from a reliable source that DC is in the make on a more powerful & lighter ACR version of the Viper. They want it to compete with the new ZO6 which gets: 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, and 1/4 mile at 11.5-11.7 range over 125mph.

Now if they can get the Viper to ride as well as the Corvette, then they'd have something.

i rode in a '69 a while back

and for a older car lie that it handled and rode pretty well

 

Older one's would get owned by the Viper though. What about the previous Z06 or the new one?

Did you know the viper was originally intended to be a modern day shelby cobra. They wanted it perform and feel like an old car, rough around the edges, with a brute force feel. Mario Andretti even liked the viper for just that reason when compared to other sportscars.

A Viper is a drivers car. Where a Corvette is smooth and more subdued, a Viper is brutal and a bit scary. It tests you as much as you test it. You have to know how to communicate with the car, and not just anyone can take the keys and romp it. Its a bit rough around the edges and it shows its limits very clearly, which is part of its allure. The Corvette and Viper may be competitors, but they are surely as different from one another as night is day.

 

how true is that! a new corvette is a driven car...its like the viper really...except its the sedan version of the viper if you know what i mean...the viper is very plain really...interior is plain the outside most of the time has the signiture stripes but thats all it really is...its all about brute 'kick ***' power where as the 'vette is more luxury and happy riding......
