Venom 1000
wonder how much he is ripping people for that package? Lets see, ruins factory warranty, only has a 1 year warranty through him, you have to take it to Houston to get it done and then when it breaks it goes back there again and the initial upgrade will only take uummm 3-6 months to begin with and maybe your Viper will actually leave with its own motor and most of its own parts. And I would venture a guess that its probly over $50,000, about what the SRT is worth to begin with. Gee what a deal... NOT!
Oh and only 210 mph... the stock '96 GTS went 192 mph, so assuming that the top speed isnt going to be much more than the 210 listed, I hardly think wasting all that money to go only 20 or so more mph over a 10 year old stock Viper is worth it. Obviously I am far from being impressed, maybe I have just been around Vipers too long for my own good.

No once you have either TnT or Hennessey do any of their "upgrades" to your VIPER the Dodge dealers are able to wash their hands of your car as far as warranty is concerned. And its true, Hennessey is located in Houston, thats where you have to take it to get worked on, its not like he is some kind of MOPAR associated type outfit.
Vipersforsale: He isn't ripping anyone off for that package, you just hate Hennessy. Check this out.....

We already know how powerful John Hennessy's tiwn-turbocharged Vipers are. Running 15 psi of boost, these stroked 522-cu.-in. V-10's put out 1000 bhp, roughly twice the output of a stock Viper. For a real-world example of how powerfully fast a Hennsessy Twin Turbo Viper is, consider this: By the time it reaches the mile in 25.6 sec., it's traveling 210.2 mph, or more than a football feild every second.
More telling, however, is how the car fares in relation to a stock Viper, an already pontent car. In the 1-mile sprint, with Brian Smith at the wheel and stock 3.07:1 rear gearing, the Hennessy Viper crosses the finish line exactly 1,329 ft.- more than a quarter mile ahead of the stock Viper. Probably can't even see the other car.
That's power. We're talking about 1,100 lb-ft of torque here, pushing the obviously chunkier Viper body (with mirrors) through the air at a fantastic speed of 210.2 mph, raising it's fabric top off it's internal structure as it streaks down the runway with incredible quickness between 100 mph and 200 mph, which it did in nearly 300 ft. less distance than the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo.
FINAL THOUGHTS
There's nothing deceiving about the standing mile; it's a put up or shut up test that shows the true power of this potent group of vehicles, as fast as they are diverse, with tuner cars mixing it up with production cars and race cars. Kudos to all ho participated; demerits to all those who turned down this rare chance to play. In the meantime, study the data, and look beyond the astounding fact that we had 3 cars go over 200 mph. See how, for instance, the might Hennessy Viper and all the other vehicles in this test complete the last half-mile in less time than it takes them to do the initial quarter mile.
It's been fun. we look foward to doing it again.
Vipersforsale: You can rag on Hennessy all you want. The truth is, they produce some of the fastest cars in the world. And this particular one you are hating dusted all the competition in this ultimate test of speed.
It doesn't look like a Vette at all. You're just a Viper hater. lol

Actually, IMO, it does resemble the Vette to a degree with that body kit on it. I happen to like the Viper alot and still have my diecast Indy 500 Pace car of the R/T10 Viper......
The Lingenfelter Corvette should have been raced against it.....because those two would have literally been 1st,2nd on most of the categories....
