Team Mopar won't be drifting the Viper in 06
Mopar won the championship and the drifters made the comp coupe illegal in the formula "D" series. Team Mopar will still kick rice *ss with the Charger. [sm=smiley36.gif]

First they ban the Hemi from Nascar, then the Viper... It seems Mopar is really kicking some rear here! Too bad other manufacturers won't deal with the loss and build a better car.

What I do find amusing is without the Hemi, Dodge has nothing to show for itself outside the Viper and the SRT-4 Neon. I mean, half the engines they have are lifted from Mitsu or Chrysler anyways.....
Granted GM isnt all that great, but they have proven motors in just about every category. Nascar doesnt need the Hemi....and to be fair, its not like you see any 454's or 427's out in the Monte Carlo's. The Nascar motors are all 4.7Lish V8's, which keeps the level of competition even.
I mean, this isnt the local quarter mile tracks.....they play on an even level. Why do you think Toyota didnt jump right in? They build their own motor and they are involved in every aspect of the engine. That showed with their performance in the Truck series this year. They managed 3-4 trucks in the top 15. That's pretty good considering they are JAPANESE and have no concepts of how to build quality vehicles, oh wait, they can......that's just some of the filth that some of you MOPAR gearheads spew. Not everybody feels that way, just tired of the constant brand loyalty.
I personally find it amusing that without the Hemi or its precious V10 Viper, Dodge really has nothing to show for itself in the land of performance vehicles. Both Ford AND GM can at least say that they have something in their cars........and in more then ONE or TWO cars.
*sidenote* I excluded the SRT-4 as its a Neon. This is a high power machine but it really doesnt figure into much as far as the racing/Nascar scene, therefore I excluded it. 1/4 and maybe some other stuff, but not what I am talking about. I also excluded the Charger as it is in the 1st year of its run and did not want to be biased towards it. Also, it uses the Hemi so it is essentially what I am talking about as well.
