Default 2008 Viper Info

ORIGINAL: jpas (ViperAlley.com)

A friend that works for Magna recieved an RFQ from DCX for the 2008 Viper, it had a production volume of 30,000 units annually. Has anyone heard that DCX was looking to boost volumes to this level? Sounds like a pipe dream to me. I will check with someone at the Featherstone PVO.

Please no flames ... but I just heard this today from an industry exec (and I believe it):

"The biggest concern with the 2008 Viper will be keeping it street legal (half joking). Dodge doesn't make any money on the Viper -- it's there for image -- to be the baddest car on the road. Since the new C6 Z06 came out, it's on now."

1998 RT/10----- 379
1998 GTS----- 837
1999 GTS (Incl. ACR)----- 699
1999 ACR -----215
2000 RT/10 -----840
2000 GTS (Incl. ACR)----- 949
2000 ACR -----218

I'm thinking it's a mis-type, maybe they meant to type 3,000...

BS. Unless they plan on lower the cost by 20-30K and increasing performance it will not even be close.

As stated all rumors, no facts out there. Wait until Sept, we should know then.
