More on 08 viper

I really dont think that the Z06 will need the S/C....as quite honestly....even if the Viper gets an additional 50-75hp....it still wont be much faster then the Z06....if at all...
Gaining HP wont exactly make the Viper faster....its a matter of how all the additional changes come together.
Plus....if GM decides to add a S/C to the Z06....I would be surprised if the Corvette had anymore HP then the Viper....
As for GM only having the option of going to an S/C....that's b.s......they're 1.3L of displacement short of the current Viper...and they're neck and neck....they could easily do some more work on that motor...again...they may not beat it....but they may not need to worry about it tooo...

I'm rather entertained at how GM is so scared of the '08 Viper that they decided to put out a factory-supercharged Corvette Stingray for next year. That is SO "Ford" of them to solve their engine impotence problems by strapping on a supercharger. Gimme a break GM!

OK, here it is:
Went to the big dinner tonite. the last voi they had the top engineer, eric ridnaur speak and intro the SRT Coupe. i was sitting next to MP who was uploading the pic which popped up in autoweek a week later.
these shows are known for introducing new and exciting stuff. that is one of the reasons i came out.
so what great stuff was shown tonite? nothing. not a thing. they just had a couple of marketing people get up and stroke other DCX vehicles. the last lady gave us 30 minutes about sprinter vans and dodge work trucks. i wish i would have taken a pic of the 1500 people with the eyes closed sleeping. it was embarassing.
the hemi guy was funny and did a good job of saving the nite for dodge. or else it would have been a complete bust.
afterwards they had the memorabilia nite. not much interesting there from what i saw. certainly no big intros. jlemke's car looks good in person, it was there. but that was it.
other things i heard today was that they elected new vca officers. george farris is a good guy and new VP of the VCA.
there were also heated discussions about the fact that Jay Herbert was paid $11,000 in 2005. i sense that his days are numbered and will be run off the vca website soon.
something else funny about flanders - i got a pic of him laid out on the floor of the ballroom tonite. he actually threatened me after i took it and told me that he would sue me if he saw it on the internet. so i just need to find a card reader in the am so i can post up the pic.

lol THis new Viper will be faster than the Z06, MANY changes...
We've all seen the 500-700hp Terminator Cobras struggle to get past the 12's.....gotta be able to put it down to make it effective. I'm in no way saying the Viper wont be able to put it down, just saying that I dont think it's going to be the jump your thinking.
"Think" is the key word.... There is more to this new Viper than you "think"... We know you love the Corvette and Chevys, but your trying to make this Viper look like a failure at it's goal already and you haven't even seen it, or it's specs yet... And you don't know what I'm thinking...
