We've had this discussion in a few threads......and in order to qualify as the fastest car....you have to meet production requirements......this car doesnt.......it's basically a modified car.....

It's splitting hairs, but that's how they determine fastest cars etc etc...as far as legit world records.....for production cars...

That said, the Hennessey Viper is an awesome ride....and the looks are super sweet....I love the black rims especially.....

All I know was that it ran a 20-some second standing mile with top speed of 218mph

But what really kills me is the fact that these cars need all this HP to go a whopping 1-2mph faster then the 880hp Sledgehammer Corvette TT........that's 20 years old!

 

I know, it's outrageous. Surely this car with the horsepower it has now can be fixed to move faster. That Vette was one of the most impressive cars ever built and didn't even break 1000.

Can you call the Sledgehammer stock?

The Hennessey Viper is THE fastest regardless of stock or not. STREET LEGAL are the key words here. But yeah, anything to take away from the Viper.
