5.9L heater core flush.
tools needed:
pliars/ channel locks
garden hose
first locate the 2 heater hoses coming out of the firewall. they will be on the passenger side behind the motor.
follow the hoses to where they connect to the water pump and intake manifold.
the passenger side hose should be spliced for easy disconnection above the left valve cover.
the driver side hose connects to the waterpump.
use your pliers or channel locks to remove the tension clamps and disconnect both hoses. (channel locks work better than pliers)
then hook your garden hose up to one of the heater hoses and let the water flow through untill it runs clear. then do the same with the other hose letting it flow through the heater core in the reverse direction.
reconnect heater hoses.
open radiator cap and start engine . let the motor run for a while with the cap off so any air trapped in the system can escape. (ideally you'll want the front of your truck higher than the rear making it easier for air to escape)
then top off the radiator with antifreeze.
any questions just let me know
