Default shocks

i just picked up a set of rancho 9000 adjustable shocks for the rear of my truck. has anybody used these before? any problems? i was running monroe airshocks but got tired of them pretty quick. i set them on the lowest setting and was very surprised as to how soft they were. i then set them on the highest setting and put a gas powered golf cart in the bed. the truck sat about an inch lower with the golfcart in the back. they seem to work pretty well even though i have only had them one day. i think they could be a pretty good alternative to the helper bags.

Crazed, a good shock combo is hard to find. I don't know anything about the Rancho shocks. But shocks don't support wieght, unless you use something like the airshock. What I have read about the Rancho 9000 is it has 9 position adjuster that regulates dampening. What are the demensions of the RS? When you say you loaded a cart in the truck assuming it wieghed 500 lbs and the truck sagged only a inch, could the shock have bottomed out and that is what is holding the truck up? Just trying to figure out why the the truck didn't settle more. Good luck...

the shock never bottomed out at all. it had plenty of travel gong down the highway. nice and smooth. it was my understanding that with the dampening in the shock set to highest level that it would reduce the sag in the truck while loaded. as far as why it didnt settle any lower, i am really not sure. i still have the overload spring in it. maybe that it is why. not sure but the i am pretty impressed with the shocks. they ride really well and i like the adjustability.

question for all my lowered brother's in rams, when i had mine dropped using a 4/6 kit, the tire shop mounted i think 275/45r20's on my 20" liquid metals...me not knowing anything basically bought lowering trucks and tire sizes trusted them to look out for me and install a set that i would not have any clearance issues with..well too make a long story short, they apparently didnt care and wont fix the issue of tire rubbing on my fenders up front(because i drove it off their lot)..i have not drove the truck since i found out about my clearance issues up front and what im asking is to run a 20/9 rim like i am with my drop what size tires did you have to go to avoid having the front of your truck crash down on your tires when ever you hit a bump, mines so bad spec since my suspension has settled i think it's actually sitting lower than it was,and i hate not driving my truck..so anyone have any experience with this sort of problem,,
thank you in advance
john
