I installed a homemade CAI this evening and have a question. I hear a hissing sound when accelerating. Is this normal and I am hearing it now since I no longer have the "airbox" on the truck?

Yes this is very normal. The factory box was designed to hide this, which slows the intake of cold air. Pics of your work are required though! Post them up!
Thank guys! I was assuming the noise was ok but wanted to be sure. As far as pictures, I still need to paint it. Right now it is plain white **** pipe. Wanted to get the benefit so I installed it and will make it look good when I get some time. Then I will post some pics.
